Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of HookSift's webhook fan-out and event delivery service (the "Service"), including the marketing site at www.hooksift.com and the Dispatch API at events.hooksift.com. By applying for access or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Acceptance
By accessing the Service, submitting a Design Partner application, or using an issued tenant key, you agree to be bound by these Terms on behalf of yourself and any organization you represent.
2. The Service
HookSift accepts events you publish and delivers them to endpoints you configure, providing per-subscription ordering, endpoint-level deduplication, configurable retries, HMAC signing, and a delivery log with replay. The Service is currently offered in limited availability through the Design Partner Program.
3. Design Partner Program
Access is granted by application and at our discretion. Design-partner access may be limited, modified, or revoked as the Service evolves. During the design-partner period, pricing is indicative and set per cohort, and availability commitments are limited to the SLOs published on our status page unless otherwise agreed in writing.
4. Acceptable use
- Deliver only to endpoints you own or are authorized to send to. HookSift is not an open relay.
- Do not transmit unlawful, infringing, or malicious payloads.
- Do not attempt to circumvent tenant isolation, rate limits, or authentication.
- Do not use the Service to send unsolicited bulk messages.
5. API usage & rate limits
Each plan carries delivery ceilings and rate limits. When a limit is exceeded, the API returns 429 with a Retry-After header; you agree to honor backoff. We may adjust limits to protect service integrity, with notice where practicable.
6. Delivery semantics
HookSift provides best-effort exactly-once delivery within documented dedupe and retention windows. Receivers remain responsible for verifying the Hooksift-Signature header and honoring the Hooksift-Event-Id / idempotency key so that duplicate deliveries — which can still occur in rare failure modes — are safely ignored. A 202 Accepted response confirms acceptance for fan-out, not receipt by every endpoint.
7. Availability & SLA
We target 99.9% or greater delivery availability on paid tiers. Service credits, where applicable, are governed by your order form or partner agreement. No SLA applies to the free Signal tier during the design-partner period.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, HookSift is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from use of the Service. Our aggregate liability is limited to the amounts you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms, for abuse, or as necessary to protect the Service. On termination, your right to use the Service ceases and provisioned keys are revoked.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service changes. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above and communicated to active partners where appropriate. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
